PRICING PHILOSOPHY
Here at Stockart.com we deal day-to-day with a double-edged sword: fair pricing. A common concern among potential customers is that our stock imagery is priced almost as high as custom work. In actuality, we believe stock imagery should be valued similarly to assignment work. It reduces risk. What you see is what you get and usage is immediate. In addition, at Stockart.com we keep detailed accounts of usage and all exclusive licenses to assure proprietary rights of illustrations.
The bottom line is that we feel prices should be set proportionate to the importance of the communication. Usage type, usage size, exposure, duration of use, times used and whom the image is purchased for, all factor into price. To ensure a large selection of quality art, the alliance of artists that Stockart.com represents must receive a fair rate for their work. In fact, royalty-free corporations have forced many gifted artists out of business.
Illustrators cannot buy their way into our alliance and can only join by invitation. Once an artist's work has been accepted, they work as partners and maintain all rights to their work. By maintaining editorial control, Stockart.com creates a high standard of quality. In contrast, royalty-free entities buy artwork outright stripping the proprietary branding potential from the artist. This means they can sell the image to anyone as many times as desired for just pennies. This may seem logical for smaller clients with lower budgets, but ultimately the quality, large or small, is compromised.
We at Stockart.com believe that our pricing policies maintain quality within the industry. We trust that you will take these factors mentioned above into consideration when choosing art for your clients. We value your business and strive to provide a valuable service to the design and publishing communities.
